The Masterclasses help develop the skills, knowledge and confidence of third sector organisations to tender for public sector contracts.
The aim is to assist in ‘levelling the playing field’ between local third sector organisations and private sector companies/national charities in the delivery of local services.
The Masterclasses are business focused, locally tailored and encourage peer-to-peer/shared learning.
Aimed primarily at managers and trustees, each Masterclass includes:
• A mixture of technical learning
• Group based exercises
• Examples of good and bad practice
• Case studies
• Guest speaker input
A unique aspect of the Masterclasses is the involvement of local commissioners who will offer expert advice, top tips and provide an opportunity to ask questions about how local services are tendered.
Each attendee will receive a personalised and professionally produced Learning Manual, which includes an Attendee Information Pack, attendee details, a Workbook for each Masterclass, together with a range of supplementary information and guidance.
We are currently delivering programmes in the following areas:
• North East - All Sub-Regions (May - November 2011)
• North West - Merseyside, Cheshire & Warrington, and Greater Manchester authority areas (Salford, November 2011)
• South West - Poole, Bournemouth and Dorset (Bournemouth,
December 2011)
• East of England (Ipswich, January 2012)
