Charlestown & Lower Kersal New Deal for Communities (NDC) required assistance with its succession planning and required independent support in assessing the available options, enabling progression of a long-term strategy for community regeneration.

open quotation'Pulse Regeneration supported the NDC Partnership Board in their assessment of whether they should set up a Successor Body organisation to follow on from the New Deal programme. Pulse staff were extremely professional and meticulous in their work - dealing with a complicated situation in such a way to be understandable to everyone involved. The work helped the Board arrive at a shared and owned decision, with all parties understanding the reasons why. We would not hesitate to recommend Pulse to other organisations which are considering their future.close quotation

Key Actions

Pulse Regeneration undertook a detailed appraisal of the NDC’s succession strategy, focusing on the extent of NDC asset ownership, the capability of existing delivery mechanisms, and local practice and current trends. From this best practice research was undertaken, different development vehicles reviewed, and options were identified for the way forward for the NDC. The review also raised a number of key issues and opportunities for consideration by the NDC board, and concluded with a series of realistic recommendations.
