Pulse Gives Careers Talk to Liverpool JMU Students

Published on 31 January 2011

Pulse Consultant Sarah Lewis was asked by Liverpool John Moores University (JMU), as a former student, to give a talk about her career and current role to Level 2 Geography students at Liverpool JMU as part of the Career Planning Guest Speaker Day. The talk assisted students in developing their subject specific career report and gave an opportunity for Sarah to highlight her career achievements to date. The talk included how the skills learnt through Sarah’s undergraduate and Master’s degree have helped in her current role. Sarah received positive feedback from the students and others attending, including questions on the changing regeneration climate.

“We really appreciate Sarah giving her time up to give the students an insight into the world of work and to help them to start thinking about what they want and need to do. What Sarah talked about was really relevant to what the students are doing in their academic modules too”.

Janine Melvin, Work Related Learning Co-ordinator, Humanities and Social Science, LJMU
