Social Enterprises Study Shapes Future Support Programme

Published on 04 July 2012

Pulse Regeneration has successfully completed a study of social enterprises in Worcestershire that will help to inform a wider initiative of targeted support for social enterprises in the county. The study has helped to identify the size, scale, impact and key issues facing the social enterprise sector in Worcestershire. The study has also helped to identify the needs of social enterprises, including their future aspiration for growth, any barriers to that growth and business development needs, such as access to social finance, scaling up business activities, public sector contracting/ getting tender ready support and social impact measurement. A number of key recommendations were suggested by the study, such as consortia development and establishing links with the private sector, which will help to shape and develop a future social enterprise support programme for the county.

Steve Ricketts, Senior Economic Development Officer at Worcestershire County Council commented:

"Pulse successfully completed the commissioned study into Social Enterprises in Worcestershire on time, to budget and in a professional manner."
