Attendees undertaking a group working exercise
Pulse Regeneration has successfully delivered its ‘Winning Public Service Contracts Masterclasses’ programme between November 2011 and January 2012 on behalf of the Local Government Association. The Masterclasses were delivered as a pilot project in support of the second phase of the National Programme for Third Sector Commissioning. The pilot project aimed to explore how the Masterclasses could be delivered to three different types of areas in England and what lessons could be learnt from these various approaches. Delivery included a regional approach in the North West, a cluster approach in the South West and a single urban location approach in the East of England. The Masterclasses assisted 37 individuals from 31 different third sector organisations, all of whom have improved their understanding of third sector commissioning and the majority of which stated that they now have a better chance of winning contracts as a result of attending the Masterclasses. Following delivery of the pilot project Pulse Regeneration is exploring options for further delivery with various stakeholders as well as delivery of additional developmental support.
These are some of the comments received from the attendees:
“I believe that all voluntary organisations should do this Masterclass if they are considering applying for public sector contracts – invaluable!”
“I really enjoyed the two days. The best training I’ve had for quite some time.”
“The masterclasses have increased my knowledge and understanding of the commissioning cycle and procurement services.”
